Transportation for the power generation sector is a very specialized form of transport. GKT are fully equipped for the transport of large, heavy components to and from power plant facilities. GKT has operated within a number of power plants to date and recognizes the unique challenges that are created by working in a confined space surrounded by many hazards.
HEALTH AND SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
During improvement schemes and regular maintenance activities, power plant components are removed temporarily. This involves lifting of heavy equipment in a confined space and removal of the equipment to a holding space. Due to the dangers of working in such a restricted space, a full and competent safety and traffic management plan is required. The work has to be carried out by a highly trained and specialized organisation, such as Gary Keville Transport.

Receiving generator rotor in the confined space of a turbine hall. GKT transported the rotor to the UK and returned after its repair.
